
For too long, marketing success has been measured by a confusing, often inflated, list of numbers. As a marketer, I will absolutely measure your engagement rates - they offer vital clues about performance, but they are not the main goal.
A high follower count is worthless if no one cares about what you are actually saying. A great open rate is meaningless if the content inside is generic and instantly forgotten. These metrics, while easy to track, don't actually measure the most critical element of all: connection.

Your story is your unfair advantage. It's the unique blend of your origin, your 'why,' your expertise, your passion, and the specific transformation you offer your clients. It’s what resonates, builds genuine trust, and ultimately, converts casual browsers into committed buyers.
Your competitors can copy your product features, but they can never steal your story.
Telling your story sounds simple, yet for many businesses, it’s the hardest part of marketing. It requires courage to be authentic and the clarity to define your message. It requires asking tough questions:
What problem am I uniquely equipped to solve?
What values guide every decision I make?
What transformation do I offer my clients?
The answers to these questions form the foundational bricks of your marketing narrative.
Crucially, you don't have to be telling your full story in every communication piece. Instead, your complete narrative needs to be defined, polished, and strategically placed in your foundational assets:
Your website's 'About Us' and Home Page.
Your directory listings and business profile.

Once this strong foundation is in place, you are free to use your day-to-day content (your email newsletters, blog posts etc) to demonstrate your values and expertise in action, knowing that anyone who wants to know your 'why' can easily find it on your core platforms.
